We are extremely excited to be collaborating with another Guernsey based charity, The Tumaini Fund, on this project. This Is EPIC are looking to develop 10 to 20 new Village Savings and Loan groups within the Kagera region of Tanzania, a location that Tumaini have been working in for a number of years.
The project will benefit the communities within the Kagera region and also act as a catalyst to help The Tumaini Fund in their on going work in the region. The project will directly help up to 600 individuals and indirectly benefit up to 3,000 people within the communities of Kagera.
We are excited to see the potential of Guernsey charities working together to benefit a community in Tanzania. With This Is EPIC helping the local communities to rise out of poverty through the use of the Village Savings and Loan methodology and with Tumaini providing support in so many different areas such as education and distributions to communities, we believe that whole communities and regions can be impacted in a very positive way.
This Is EPIC has carried out extensive research to identify and establish potential partners in the Kagera region of Tanzania. Relationships have been developed with a number of organisations to establish if they could be suitable partners for This is EPIC.
